Avoid Friction & Strains

Avoid Friction:

Avoid constant stroking of your Fur, for friction from the hand will actually singe delicate guard hairs. Never use a hairbrush or comb on Furs. Just shake them out well instead. This is good for them and opens up the Fur fibers, and is also a reasonably good protection against moths.

Jewelry, which rubs the Fur, will cause wear. Bags carried on the arm or swinging against the sides will do the same. The collar will wear if constantly raised to rub against the headrest of your car seat or hat.

Avoid Strains:

Most Fur garments are reinforced at places where strain is expected. However, people seldom realize the tremendous strain given a coat by the sudden movements of sitting down, leaning forward, reaching out, and the like. Because of this your Fur coat should have plenty of room for arm and body action.

When sitting down, with your Fur coat on, see that your Fur coat is not tightly buttoned. Do not pull your coat tightly around you when you sit down. Loosen it, raise it up a little, allow plenty of freedom for action, and try to avoid unnecessary strain across the hips and back. Otherwise, you may part seams or tear the skin itself.

Driving in automobiles causes strain and wear, especially behind the shoulder seams, shoulder blades, lower back and the sleeves from wrist to elbow. Your coat is best hung in the back seat or laid flat across the seat of your car’s back seat or in the trunk until you reach your destination. This avoids continuous and unnecessary strain to your Fur coats. Many repairs of this sort can be avoided with simple conversations as part of our Sir Charles Furry family. We educate you to be Fur-minded and with a little fore-thought our valued rapport with you adds not only a longer life to your well earned pocketbook; but also adds a longer life to your beautiful Furs.
