Shedding & Crocking
Shedding and Crocking:
Furs seldom shed, but, in certain types of Furs, the hairs break off naturally and much more than in others. Hairs rarely come out and what you may take to be shedding or breaking hair is often just loose hair that the manufacturing Furrier has failed to remove. If you notice many loose hairs, bring or mail the garment to Sir Charles and we will attend to the garment.
Fur crocking is oxidation of the dye used on a Fur, causing the dye to discolor or come off. Occasionally this occurs in new Furs as well as in other wearing apparel, and Sir Charles can remedy this for you. What you will take to be crocking is often merely an accumulation of dust or cosmetics; therefore having the Fur conditioned and cleaned will thoroughly remove this.
