The Durability of Furs
The durability of Furs:
Properly cared for, a Fur coat will last a long time and may be restyled or remodeled as desired. How long it will last depends upon two things; the care it receives, and the kind of Fur it is. There is a wide range in the durability of different Furs. The expensive Chinchilla, for instance, will not last as long as an inexpensive rabbit Fur. However, the most perishable Fur will actually outwear the strongest when the most perishable is cared for, and the strongest Fur is neglected.
If, while your Fur is still comparatively new, a few seams part or a few small holes appear in the leather, do not be alarmed. These small troubles occur in the most expensive Fur coats as well as the most economical. Just mail the garment to Sir Charles and his master Furriers will correct the trouble.
